Last updated: May 13, 2026
1. Introduction
Salut Bucuresti ("we", "the site") respects the privacy of its visitors. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.
2. Data We Collect
Automatically Collected Data
When you visit our site, we may automatically collect the following information:
- IP address (anonymized)
- Browser type and version
- Operating system
- Pages visited and visit duration
- Referral source (how you arrived at the site)
Voluntarily Provided Data
If you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address. We do not collect other personal data unless you voluntarily provide it.
3. How We Use Data
We use the collected data to:
- Improve site content and user experience
- Analyze how visitors use the site (anonymized analytics)
- Send the newsletter (only if you subscribed)
- Ensure the security and proper functioning of the site
4. Cookies
Our site uses cookies for:
- Essential cookies: Required for site functionality (language preference, cookie consent)
- Analytics cookies: Help us understand how the site is used (anonymized data)
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies may affect site functionality.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for commercial purposes. We work with infrastructure providers who process data on our behalf:
- Global cloud hosting, CDN, and analytics providers
- An AI language model provider (United States), under standard contractual clauses — used only by the Bucur assistant (see Section 6)
6. AI Assistant (Bucur)
The site offers an AI assistant called Bucur that answers tourism questions in natural language. When you use it:
- What we process: your question text, your IP address (used only for daily rate limiting), language preference, and a temporary session ID. No account or login is required.
- Retention: questions and metadata are kept for up to 90 days to improve the assistant. After 90 days the data is automatically discarded.
- Not used for AI training: per the AI provider's commercial terms, the questions you ask Bucur are not used to train their models.
- Opt out: simply don't use the assistant. There is nothing to delete because no conversations are tied to an identity across visits.
Bucur is an AI — answers can be incomplete or wrong. Verify prices, opening hours, and addresses at the official source before acting on them.
7. Your Rights (GDPR)
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the following rights:
- Right of access — You can request a copy of the data we hold about you
- Right to rectification — You can request correction of inaccurate data
- Right to erasure — You can request deletion of your data
